Why I Stopped Using PostEx – A Real Seller’s Experience
Share
In the fast-growing world of e-commerce, reliable logistics is not just important—it’s essential. As an online seller, your courier partner directly affects your customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and ultimately your revenue.
For a long time, I used PostEx as my delivery partner. However, due to several ongoing issues, I made the decision to stop working with them and switch to Daraz Express, which has proven to be a much better alternative.
In this blog, I want to highlight the key problems I personally faced with PostEx so that other sellers can make informed decisions.
1. Unequal Treatment Based on Order Volume
One of the most frustrating issues I encountered was what felt like unfair treatment based on order volume.
Sellers with high daily orders were given priority service, with riders visiting them regularly for pickups. However, sellers with fewer orders—even if located very close by—were often ignored. In some cases, even if I was just in the next street, my parcels were not picked up.
What made this even more concerning was that a rider explicitly told me that they would only properly attend to my pickups once I had around 40 to 50 orders. This clearly shows a bias toward high-volume sellers and neglect of small or growing businesses.
This kind of behavior creates a system where small or growing businesses are neglected, making it harder for them to scale. A logistics partner should support all sellers equally, regardless of their current size.
2. Extremely Unpredictable Pickup Timings
Another major issue was the lack of a fixed pickup schedule.
PostEx operates within a very broad time window—anytime between 2 PM and 12 AM. This is highly impractical for sellers. There were days when the rider arrived at 4 PM, and other days when they showed up as late as 9:30 PM.
Even worse, riders would sometimes call during inappropriate times, such as during نماز (prayer), without any consistency or prior scheduling.
Globally, logistics companies provide defined time slots to ensure efficiency and convenience. This kind of unpredictability disrupts workflow and makes it difficult to plan your day.
3. Unprofessional Pickup Behavior
A particularly strange and unprofessional behavior I experienced was that the rider would not come directly to my location.
Instead, even if I had 5 to 10 parcels ready, the rider would call me and ask me to come to a nearby street—or sometimes even farther—to hand over the parcels.
What made this more frustrating was that this behavior seemed to be directed only at me, as other sellers did not face the same issue.
A courier service is supposed to provide door-to-door convenience. Asking sellers to travel for handover defeats the entire purpose of a pickup service.
4. Inconsistent and Selective Service
There were multiple instances where parcels were collected from nearby locations—sometimes even from the street behind mine—but my parcels were ignored.
I raised this issue several times with the sales representative, but unfortunately, no improvement was made.
This inconsistency reflects poor coordination and lack of accountability within the system. When issues are reported repeatedly but remain unresolved, it shows a lack of commitment to customer service.
Final Decision: Switching to a Better Alternative
Due to all these ongoing problems, I decided to stop using PostEx.
I have now shifted to Daraz Express, and my experience so far has been significantly better. The service is more structured, pickups are more reliable, and overall operations are much smoother.
Conclusion
Choosing the right logistics partner is critical for any online business. While PostEx may work well for high-volume sellers, my experience shows that it may not be suitable for everyone—especially small to mid-level sellers.
If you're facing similar challenges, it might be worth exploring alternative courier services that offer consistency, professionalism, and equal treatment.
Your logistics partner should support your growth—not limit it.
